Shenzhen Liaison Unit organized spring reception to strengthen ties with Shenzhen CPPCC Hong Kong and Macao members
The Shenzhen Liaison Unit of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSARG) organized a “Spring Reception for Hong Kong and Macao Members of Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Committee (SZ CPPCC)” on 14 January 2017. About 50 SZ CPPCC Hong Kong and Macao members and guests attended the reception and exchanged views on fostering enhanced cooperation between Hong Kong and Shenzhen through collaboration. Mr. Pan Jiadong, Director General of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs Committee of SZ CPPCC also attended the event.
In delivering speech at the reception, Mr. Albert Tang, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) of the HKSARG, pointed out that in the past year Hong Kong and Shenzhen had achieved breakthrough in a number of key co-operation areas including Qianhai, medical services, tertiary education and Lok Ma Chau Loop development. The support given by SZ CPPCC Hong Kong and Macao members was an important driving force. He said that GDETO would maintain close liaison with SZ CPPCC Hong Kong and Macao members and hoped that members would continue to play a bridging role in actively advancing Hong Kong / Shenzhen cooperation and development for mutual benefits to both places.
