The Small and Medium Enterprises Committee (SMEC) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region visited Qianhai and Shekou area of Shenzhen on 7 September. The delegation was led by Dr. Jonathan Choi Koon-shum, Chairman of the SMEC. Mr Kenneth Mak, Director-General of Trade and Industry, Mr Albert Tang, Director of GDETO as well as about 40 representatives of SMEs joined the visit.
The main purpose of the visit was to help Hong Kong SMEs understand the latest development and related policies of Qianhai and Shekou Area of the Guangdong Free Trade Zone, and to enable Hong Kong enterprises to seize the business opportunities of the Qianhai and Shekou area to develop their businesses on the Mainland. The delegation met with Dr Du Peng, Director-General of Qianhai Management Authority (QHMA), Mr He Zijun, Deputy Director-General, and officers in charge of various units of QHMA, and visited Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub. The delegation then visited Shekou Net Valley and enterprises set up therein to better understand their business development.
