GDETO organized visit to foster Hong Kong enterprises’ understanding of Qianhai and Shekou Area of Shenzhen

Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region organised a visit to China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai and Shekou Area of Shenzhen for members of the Hong Kong business community on 8 January.  The delegation was led by Mr Albert Tang, Director of GDETO.  About 60 representatives from more than a dozen of trade associations such as Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Chinese Importers and Exporters Association, the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China - Guangdong, Hong Kong Logistics Association, Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers' Association, Guangdong and Hong Kong Feeder Association, etc. as well as a number of Hong Kong enterprises participated in the event.

The main purpose of the visit was to help the business community understand the latest developments and related policies of Qianhai and Shekou Area, and to enable Hong Kong enterprises to seize the business opportunities to develop their businesses on the Mainland.  The delegation met with Ms Tian Min, Deputy Director-General of Qianhai Management Authority, Mr Hu Yong, General Manager of Office of Qianhai Shekou Pilot Free Trade Zone, China Merchants Group Ltd, and officers in charge of various units, as well as visited the CTF HOKO mall, Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub, Q-Emporia and exhibition centre in Shekou.
