Fujian Liaison Unit and InvestHK co-organized Fujian-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Exchange in Fuzhou and Xiamen
To promote technology exchange between Hong Kong and Fujian Province, and attract Fujian innovation and technology companies to set up in Hong Kong, the Fujian Liaison Unit (FJLU) and Invest Hong Kong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, together with Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Fujian Provincial Government, co-organized the “Belt and Road, Together We Grow – Fujian-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Exchange” on 28 November 2016 in Fuzhou. At the seminar, Mr Simon Tsang, Head of Innovation & Technology, Invest Hong Kong, briefed participants on the business opportunities for innovation and technology enterprises in Hong Kong under the national Belt and Road initiatives. Dr. Meikei Ieong, Chief Technology Officer of Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited, Mr Stephen Wai, Senior Manager, Business Development of Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies, and Mr Macro Chan, Manager, Mainland Collaboration of Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation were invited to introduce HK’s technology resources, and shared the latest technology development on smart cities. Over 80 representatives of Fujian innovation and technology organizations and enterprises attended the seminar.
On 29 November 2016, FJLU and Invest Hong Kong, together with Xiamen Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, co-organized “Belt and Road, Together We Grow – Fujian-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Business Lunch Roundtable” for 30 representatives of Xiamen technology companies, and introduced the business opportunities for innovation and technology enterprises in Hong Kong under the national Belt and Road initiatives, as well as encouraged them to use Hong Kong as the platform to “go global”.
